Remember Me?

I know I have been missing again for absolutely ages.  I'm such a bad blogger.  My excuse is the cricket season I'm afraid.  I've only just found time this morning as I'm on cricket tea duty this afternoon.  Anyway, even if I haven't been uploading I have found the odd moment to create.  I have a stack of images I've coloured in my lunch break and this is one I found time to make into a card.  This is probably the first card I've uploaded just for fun - not for a challenge - since I started this blog.  I hope you like it.

It's a bit wonky but my photography skills have never been up to much.  The image is from 2 Cute Ink and the papers are just a cheap set I think I got from one of the pound shops in town.

Junior cricket training has now finished for the season so I am hoping to be more active on the blog front, although I'm not making any promises I won't keep.

Yellow and Grey

OK, I haven't been on for a while but this week's Less is More Challenge was sticking in my brain.  Haven't got a clue why as Yellow is my least favourite colour.  It's a bit like the one layer thing the other month.  Once it's in your head you have to go along with it.  Anyway, here's my effort.

It was simple enough to do.  I embossed a piece of card with one of my folders and shaded the flower centres.  The butterfly stamp I had ages ago but I can't remember who's it is, sorry.  The colour scheme seemed suitable for a sympathy card so that's what it's ended up as.  I hope you like it.  I'm pleased with the results.  I'm even pleased with the colour.

Animal Antics

I'm loving the challenge over at this week's Cards 4 Guyz blog.  Animal Antics is perfect for the card I had in mind.  The Guy in my life used to have a Vespa and did a lot of fund raising for the RNLI with it.  Unfortunately, he had to give it up when he had surgery on his shoulder - making it difficult to keep his arms outstretched.  I bought a cute little doggy on a scooter from Gerda Stiener a while a go meaning to make hubby a card.  I've had the image coloured for a while but this was a perfect opportunity to finish off a simple card.  I apologise for the poor picture.  I'm in the middle of mucking out my craft room so I took the photo downstairs and the light isn't brilliant.

And this is a picture of my Guy and his scooter (I'm going to be in serious trouble for this).

I hope you like my card and my inspiration.

Curvy

I am seriously excited this week to have the chance to be guest designer at Less is More.  The challenge for this week is to include a curve on a one layer card (I know!  Little Miss Fussy Cut here doing another one layer card).  I only hope I am up to it.  I am in awe of any Design Team Member on any Challenge blog.  I don't know how you do it.  I have gone through so many different ideas.  Some of them even made it to card fronts.  You never know I might enter one of the 'also rans' later this week.  The one thing I did discover is that, not only can I not draw a straight line, I can't draw a curved one either.  Which meant I was going to have to use a stamp with a curve to it.  Here's what I came up with.

I love with the curvy banner between the two birds but it needed something to make it stand out.  Hence the stippled heart behind the image.  It does mean that the banner now looks lop sided but I actually like it.  I had to add the sequins to stop the image getting lost in the middle of my card.  My intention was to stamp some little hearts but all the very many heart stamps I have were the wrong size.  Anyway, I love how simple it looks.  I hope you do too.

Now it's your turn.

Here Kitty Kitty

Can you believe it?  Me doing two Challenges in a week.  I have to admit this one was fairly simple as this week at 4 Crafty Chicks it's anything goes - so I just have to upload one of the cards I've been working on.  I've been colouring images and keeping them ready for inspiration to strike (thank you to the 30 day colouring challenge for keeping me motivated).  I've coloured this Kitty image from Tiddlyinks loads since I bought the set.  It's ideal for anyone who loves cats.  Here's the card I made with this one.

I hope you like it.

You've been framed

This week's challenge at Simply Less is More is to use a frame and I had just the right stamp for it.  A while ago I bought a set of framed images from Digistamp Boutique and I love the Tulip image.  However, this is me.  I can't help myself.  If I have an image I just have to cut it out. So I did away with the original frame and put it in a die cut one.  Here's the card I made.

I've had the embossed card blanks for ages but I think it makes a nice frame for my frame.  I backed my image with some vellum and put blue card behind that.

Just in case you are wondering what the image looked like originally here it is before my scissors leapt into my hands and made me cut it.

I hope you like what I did with it.

Definitely not a birthday card

I'm on the ball this morning.  Well, it does help when you've got loads of coloured images ready to go (bless you Daily Marker 30 day Colouring Challenge).  I've coloured everyday but I've got too far behind with uploading my images.  Instead I'm using those images to enter other challenges.  This morning's challenge at Sweet Stampin is to make something that isn't a birthday card.  So, another Good Luck card it is then.

OK, I didn't add a sentiment but a basket of shamrocks doesn't really say happy birthday to me.  The stamp is available at From the Heart Stamps.  It's a set of three baskets but this is the one I've used most of all.  I hope you like it.

Cut it out

Blogging twice in two days!  It'll never last.  This week's set of blog challenges have really grabbed my interest.  If only I didn't have to go to work all day I could create something for all of them.  Pity I need a regular wage to fund my crafting supplies.  Anyway, today's card is for The Paper Players Challenge to 'Cut it out'.  This is my first time joining in over at their blog - although I've been a follower on Bloglovin for ages.  Here's my card:

Not only did I cut my wording out on my new cricut I also fussy cut this sweet little mouse from 2 Cute Ink.  I'm a member of Heidi's stamp club and this was one of the images I received last month.  I'm a little bit obsessed with cute just lately.  I think Heidi has a lot to do with that.  Anyway, I'm really pleased with the way it turned out.  Especially as it's my first successful Ombre effort.  I hope you like it too.

With a little bit of luck...

...I'll be posting more often.  Well, I hope so anyway.  This week I've been busy with a few cards for a couple of challenges, so watch this space.  I've also been colouring most days in a vain bid to do the 30 day colouring challenge over at The Daily Marker.  I've coloured everyday bar one so far.  My problem is taking photos and uploading them.  I'm afraid I'd rather be doing than showing.  I have been fairly pleased with my efforts so far though.

Anyway, I have managed to take a moment to join in this week's Sweet Stampin Challenge with the theme of 'No Patterned Paper'.  Normally, this would be a bit of a nightmare for me but I was lucky enough to have a milestone birthday this year, and even luckier to be given a Cricut machine by my very understanding hubby (bless him). No patterned paper is a dream when you can cut patterns out of coloured card stock.  What do you think?

The image is from Digistamp Boutique and can be found here.  He's called 'Jolly St Pats' and I thought he was perfect for a bit of good luck.  I hope you like him.

In My Dreams

Well, that little break from blogging lasted slightly longer than I intended.  I had originally planned on a few weeks off whilst preparing for my son to fly the nest to university.  As you can imagine, my mind was in a mess and my card making was less than regular.  Funnily enough, once he'd gone I coped better than I imagined. I knew he was happy and coping so I was happy and coping. However, I had gotten out of the blogging habit.  I still followed all my usual blogs (sorry I wasn't commenting folks, I was following you on the Tab and it wouldn't let me).

What has finally got me back on the computer you ask? (Well, in my mind you asked).  This week's Less is More Challenge, that's what.  Quite an odd one for me to become obsessed with I have to admit.  One layer cards are my absolute nemesis.  I avoid them like the plague but when I saw the subject of 'Opposites attract' I got an image in my head that stuck with me all week.  So here I am posting my card for the Challenge.  I hope you like it.

I still think it is way to plain for one of my cards but I needed to try it so I could forget it.  The image is from 2 Cute Ink and you can find it here.  I seem to be using Heidi's images a lot lately and have even signed up for her club.  You have no idea how much this is me in the gym.

Anyway, I'm hopefully back now and will be entering a few more challenges when I can.
