Keeping Mum

 Morning all.  Over at Cardz4galz this week we are looking for 'Mother's day' projects or something 'for a special lady'. In the UK mother's day is at the end of march so I have a couple of cards to make.  Here's the first.

The die I've used is a sunflower die but I really love using it in white.  I did add a layer in yellow behind to separate it from the background.

Dress it up

 Evening all.  It's my choice for a theme over at Cardz4guyz and I have chosen 'Men's clothing'.  I'm not sure what was in my mind when I picked this but I've gone with a rugby shirt and boots.  I've had this in my stash for so long.

I couldn't decide on a backing paper for this so I kept it simple and left it black and white.

Winging it

 And for my next late post I will be winging it.  The Alphabet Challenge are up to 'W for Wings'.  I'm obsessed with the adorable images at Cinematic Circle Clipart over on Etsy.  I used this cute flamingo for my card and added googly eyes to enhance his surprised look.

 I'm so pleased with this one.  I also managed to use up some scrap paper and stickers that had been hanging around in my stash.

 Morning all.  I'm running so late with my posts this week.  Over at Cardz4galz we are looking for 'Embellishments' on your projects please.  I used some sparkly brads to adorn my cute little bunny.

Feel the love

 Afternoon all.  I know it's Tuesday but the marina is having some work done and the electric has been off.  We do use battery power when we are off grid but I try not to overload it.  I figure it's more important to run the freezer than the computer.  We have solar and, when we are travelling on the canal, the engine charges the battery but I was being cautious.  

Yesterday, the new Make my Monday challege went live and, of course, we have a 'love' theme for St Valentine's day.

I've gone very CAS and used one of the Fuzzy Moon images I got from a local charity shop.  I have a load of them and I am always looking for an excuse to use them up.

Does vintage add value?

 Morning all.  We are at 'V for Vintage' over at The Alphabet Challenge this morning.  I have to say vintage is not my go to style.  I had a friend over last week and she suggested using vintage wine, thanks Ellen.

I used a clipart image I had from a set of french images from Etsy.  Adding it to some pretty paper and torn vellum, I just needed to print my sentiment.  I can't decide if it needs a few gems to finish it off.  I will stare at it for a bit before I decide.

Going Dotty

 Hello all.  We are all going dotty over at Cardz4galz today.  We are looking for 'polka dots' on your projects please.  I had some dotty silver card so I used that for my main panel and added spotty balloons for good measure.

 Hello all.  I find CAS really difficult to get right.  Guyz cards also don't come naturally.  So, let's have 'CAS for the Guyz' this week. I dug through my box of die cuts to see what I'd got handy.

Missing posts catch up

 OK, I'm not sure what's happened to the two posts I thought I'd done for last week but they aren't there and I can't find them.  So, catching up we first have 'anything but a square' for Cardz4galz.  I'm really pleased with this one.  I followed this tutorial from Sam Calcott and I will be doing more of these.

I chose to do the triangular shape but she also has a tutorial for an oval.

Secondly, we have the theme of 'underwater' for The Alphabet Challenge.  This was one of those rare cards which translated from my head to the card just as it was.  Normally, I think something up and have to alter something or change my mind.  This one, I'm pleased to say, is just as I imagined it.

I stencilled the background and used a die from Hero Arts for the fish.

I hope you will pop over to both blogs and have a go at the challenges.  I'm off to schedule tomorrow's.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Seeing the light

 Hello all.  We have a very different challenge theme for you today over at Cardz4guyz.  I can't remember ever having the theme of 'a lighthouse' before in all my years doing this.  

For my card I used a die that you've probably seen me use before but I backed the aperture with coloured velum.  The velum is in gradual stripes and I love how the yellow goes outwards from my lighthouse.

Soft Stencilling

Whilst my computer is in a good mood I will also publish my Cardz4galz  card.  We are looking for 'Stencils' on your project please.  I've gone with an old Funky Fossil stencil and just added it softly to one corner. I'm really pleased with this as I think it's a perfect backdrop to my new coffee cup die.  Can you tell I've had some birthday money to use.

Sorry about the poor photo.  I can't wait for lighter nights so I can get some shots in daylight.

 Sorry this is late but my computer has been playing me up. Over at Cardz4guyz this week we have a Tic Tac Toe challenge for you.

I have some new animal dies so I was always going to start from the top corner.  Going down, I've added texture and brown.

Warm and Cosy

 Afternoon all and a Happy New Year.  Starting the new year with a 'warm and cosy' theme over at Sparkles Christmas Challenge.  It's been lovely and cosy on the boat this Christmas and Santa did manage to get down our little chimney (the trick is to leave the stove door open so he can get out).  Here's a little Tatty Ted by a much wider fire place waiting for Santa.
