E for Embossing

We are up to E for 'Embossing' (wet or dry) over at The Alphabet Challenge.  I will admit to never having much luck with dry embossing to I turned to my trusty embossing folders for this one.  I had printed my sentiment out and centred it in the middle of the folder.  The only issue is, the side I could see the sentiment through was the back.  So you have the debossed side of an embossed pattern on my card.

I always think that sympathy cards need to be simple to be effective.  I am really pleased with this one.  The sentiment does all that needs to be done.

New Year, New Stash

Sorry I'm a day late.  I had a lousy migraine yesterday. I hope you are ready for a new challenge and I hope you all had new stash for Christmas.  This week, at Cardz4guyz we would like you to use your new stash on a project.  Now, living on a narrow boat, we have very little space for new stuff so I didn't get anything crafty at Christmas so I found a paper pad that I hadn't used before.  Not exactly new but definitely unused so new in a way. Here's what I created with it.

I already had the sentiment printed out.  I think it came from Baer Designs on Etsy but I'm not sure (apologies if I've got that wrong).  I just added a die cut and some card candy to finish it off. It's a pity this image has a tea pot on.  If it was a coffee pot it would be ideal for my coffee addict husband.

Ok, let's see all your new stuff.  Make me jealous.

A spring card for the guyz

Afternoon all.  Yes, I know it's late.  I should have posted this morning but things haven't gone to plan.  Over at Cardz4guyz we have the subject of 'equinox seasonal change' which, when you get down to it means spring.  I'm not gonna lie, this one was a challenge.  Normal spring image - daffs, tulips, lambs and chicks - seemed a bit girly.  I decided to go with a quote from Baer Design Studio.  After that I just needed some images.  I wanted bright cheerful images that looked ready to party and, as the insects appear to be waking up in the garden, these images from Goebie seemed to fit the bill.

It's a little bit different than I intended but, once I had the quote, it seemed to fit.  It's nice to see some of the bees and things popping up now the sun is shinning a bit. I won't let Will mow the grass so that they can get pollen from the dandelions. Not popular with him but they need looking after and there's not much else out yet.

Please pop over and join in the fun.

In a world where you can be anything, be kind

Morning all.  Over at The Alphabet Challenge we are up to 'K for Kindness' and we would like you to use the word 'Kindness' on your creations.  As this was the case I needed a quote and, as I've said before, one of my favourite sites for quotes is Baer Design Studios on Etsy.  They didn't disappoint.  I found a beautiful set and chose to keep things very simple and let it shine.

I printed it pretty big and mounted it on a piece of 6 x 6 patterned paper.  Other than the layers and the hearts I left it alone.  I am really pleased with it.  Please be kind and join in the fun.

Those We Love Don't Go Away

Good Morning all.  We have a new challenge for you over at Make My Monday today.  We want to see your 'sympathy' projects this time. When dad died earlier this year I felt so grateful to those that sent words of comfort and love.  Especially during the pandemic, it was amazing how many lives he'd touched in a way that they felt the need to share memories with us. My card for this challenge is so very simple but the words - from Baer Design Studio - reflect so much how I feel that I just wanted to let them shine.

Those we love
don't go away.
They walk beside us
every day.
Unseen, unheard
but always near.
Still loved,
still missed
and very dear.

Dad, I know you are constantly with me, mum and my sisters, but Gail said can you stop winding the dog up it's doing her nut!

Drip, Drip, Drop Little April Showers

Morning all.  As it's a new month at Sparkles Monthly Challenge and that month is April, it is entirely appropriate that the new challenge should be 'April Showers'.  I did mention, on my previous 'Spring Rain' card that this little fella would definitely be getting another outing.  I think I've also mention my latest obsession with the quotes at Baer Designs.  Well, that's what you are getting for this one.

It doesn't really need much of an explanation.  I just coloured both and stuck them together. I added the coloured dots but I'm not sure I like them.  Oh well, they're on there now.

OK, let's see what you've got.  Please pop over to the blog and check out the DT cards.  The girls are awesome.

Happy Anniversary

Morning all.  We start, once again, at the letter A over at The Alphabet Challenge and we want to see your 'A for Anniversary' projects please.  Both my husband and I (do I sound like the Queen) are a couple of soppy souls but we don't really do anniversary cards.  Our anniversary sits nicely between his birthday and our sons birthday - all in the same week.  However, if I was going to send him a card then I would like it to say exactly how I feel about him.

I am totally obsessed with the quote downloads over at Baer Design Studio.  This says everything I want my husband to know.  OK, it's a bit pink and girly so I may have to redo it before our next Anniversary but I hope you get the idea.

Please pop over and join in the fun.

Rainy Dayz

Morning all.  It's time for a new challenge - a very appropriate one as I write this - for Cardz4galz. Today we are asking for 'Spring Rain' cards.  Think wellies, umbrellas etc.  I was a bit stuck for ideas for this one but I popped onto Etsy for some digital stamp retail therapy.  I found this sweet little duck over at Drawn by Krista. He looks so very happy in the miserable weather.  I also added a quote from Baer Design Studios.  This came in a valentine's set but I think it works quite well with my smiley little fella.  I have to say I'm obsessed with quotes at the moment and often find myself browsing Baer Designs.

Isn't he adorable.  I guarantee you will be seeing him again.  I loved colouring him.  I kept everything very simple and stencilled a few raindrops behind him.  If you look very very closely you will see that I've carefully managed to stencil them...upside down!  Oh well, it's the little unique features that make a card personal don't you think.

Please pop over and join in the fun.  The DT have some really lovely projects to inspire you.
