Clean and simple - with ice and slice

Here we are again, ready for a new challenge at Cardz4guyz.  This week we are keeping things clean and simple. I'm just a bit jealous of anyone who can master this technique.  I find it very difficult to do.  I recently bought a few alcohol themed stamps from Crafter's Companion and was itching to ink them up.  This seemed a perfect opportunity  to do so.  I washed a lime and lemon background on some watercolour paper and stamped it on top...simples!  OK, so  I couldn't leave well alone and had to layer the lemon slices but other than that I didn't faff, honestly.  I wish you could see it in real life as the paint has mica in it and it really shimmers.

What do you think?

I love how it turned out.  Maybe the penny is finally dropping with the CAS cards.

Pop Up Pussy Cats

Morning all.  Time for a new Challenge over at Back to Basics and Beyond.  I have to admit to being totally out of my comfort zone with this week's challenge - even taking a photo proved a challenge!  The idea is to make a pop up box.  I watched several You Tube tutorials before stepping off into the deep end.  It turned out to be a lot easier than I imagined.

I was in need of something a little special for my Mother In Law, Viv.  She's having a BIG birthday this month (I won't be indelicate and mention how big ... unless there is a fee involved). She's our own special crazy cat lady, having volunteered for the Cat's Protection League for years, so I obviously had to fill my box with cats.  Luckily I had a fab cats set from My Favourite Things.  I've had it a while and it's very under used.  I think it works perfectly for this project.

So sorry about the rubbish photo.  I find it easier to scan my cards but you can't really do that with a 3D project.

Please pop over and join in the fun.

Krafty as Anything

Morning all.  Another challenge day dawns over at Make My Monday.  It's time to get your Kraft on folks.  The theme is Make It Krafty.  This has to be the easiest challenge of the year so far for me.  I have a couple of pads of kraft backing paper designs.  The biggest decision I had to make was which one of the quotes (I have a full set from Polkadoodles) was I going to make into my focal point. Once I'd decided on the Silver Poppy backing paper the quote seemed the obvious one to go with.  I add some black gems and voila!

Why not join us in the challenge and show us your Krafty side.  We love to see what you come up with.

If you liked it you should have put some bling on it

Morning all.  Time for a new challenge at The Alphabet Challenge.  We have been tasked this week with adding Xtra Bling.  In fact, I added so much bling to my card that, when I scanned it, it kept throwing up shadows.  I apologise for the rubbish picture but I assure you it was the best of a bad bunch.

I don't have any engagement cards in my box so it was an ideal excuse to give it a go.  Please nip over and join in the fun.  We love to see what you make.

Animal Magic

Morning all.  Time for another Sparkles Monthly Challenge.  All you need to do is 'add an animal'.  Plenty of scope for joining in there.  The problem will be, if you are anything like me, which animal.  I bet none of my DT colleague will come up with the same one I did.  I mean, how many Highland Cow images are there.  I chose this fabulous image from Sheepski Designs for my project.  It didn't need much fussing with.  I just distressed the edges a bit (yeah, I finally found my distress tool after moving my craft room all those months ago) and added the heather.  I popped Mum on it as it will go to a friend of mine to give to her mum - who adores Highland Cows.

I hope you like it.

Pop over and join in the fun.  I'd love to see your creations.

Wild Thing

Morning all.  Time for a new challenge over at Cardz4guyz.  The challenge is to use a 'wild animal'.  I have to admit to being a bit stumped by this one.  Funny isn't it, the scope for this challenge is enormous but I couldn't settle on anything.  I started to colour a cute little squirrel (well, they aren't domesticated are they).  But when  I looked at the image it wasn't saying Wild Animal.  Mildly irate maybe but definitely not what I would think of as a Wild Animal.  Anyway, at the eleventh hour, I chose to go with something more traditionally wild, although he's also on the cute side.  I've recently discovered Lee Holland Art on Etsy and I fell for this cute Tiger.  I stencilled a tiger stripe background and added the image .  What do you think?

Adorable or what?

Please pop over and join in the fun.  I love visiting all the blogs and seeing what everyone else comes up with.

Piece on Earth

Morning all.  Time for a new challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond.  This is taking me back to basics as I haven't done any paper piecing in years.  My card is probably a little unseasonal in amongst all the valentines at the moment but when I went to chose a stamp it was lying on the top of the pile screaming at me to be used.  I have no idea how long I've had this stamp.  It says it is an Anita's design but I have  no recollection of it and I certainly haven't used it before.  Double bonus then.  Maybe I need to go and have another look through my stamps.

I stamped the design on white card and then again on some red and glittery red paper.  Having cut out my stars I then stuck them all together.  I had intended to use dimensional glue on the top layer and then forgot.  The greeting is cut out of the same glitter card and I just used a scrap of old backing paper.

Here is how it turned out.

Considering I had no clue as to where I was going with this challenge I'm pretty pleased with the result.  Plus, I have a start on next years stash of Christmas cards (I have a feeling it will be very lonely for a while).

Red, Pink and White

Morning all.  Time for another challenge at Make My Monday.  The theme of Red, Pink and White is ideal as Valentine's Day is around the corner.  However, I would love to see other cards using this theme as well.  I did jib out a little as I found an adorable heart stamp which has been in my 'printed out ready to colour' box for years.  I would love to credit the designer but I can't find it in my digistamp folder.  Please let me know if you recognise it.  I kept it very simple using some scraps of paper and buttons.  I'm really pleased with the result.  I hope you like it too.

Please pop over and enjoy the fun.  The DT girls and I love to see your creations.
