'Fun' Fold

Morning all.  Are you ready for a new Make My Monday Challenge.  This time we are looking for 'Fun Fold' cards.  I have to admit to finding fun folds difficult.  I love the stuff that Debbie makes over at Secrets to Stamping.  She's so good at this stuff. I really struggle however.  I have recently discovered Kendra Sands Morgan and I'm a total convert to her new Kendra's Card Challenge.  Whilst watching her You Tube channel I also discovered this Tri fold Shutter Card tutorial. I had some gorgeous oriental papers left over from doing her card challenge and decided to give this a go.

I'm so chuffed with it.  Yes, I've got a couple of false starts on my desk but once I'd got my mountain and valley folds in the right order it came together really well.  I do think I need a new paper trimmer though.  I'm not used to cutting mats for panels (I use a perfect layers tool normally) and it definitely showed up that it's not cutting square.  Oh well, that's another excuse to pop to the craft shop!

In a world where you can be anything, be kind

Morning all.  Over at The Alphabet Challenge we are up to 'K for Kindness' and we would like you to use the word 'Kindness' on your creations.  As this was the case I needed a quote and, as I've said before, one of my favourite sites for quotes is Baer Design Studios on Etsy.  They didn't disappoint.  I found a beautiful set and chose to keep things very simple and let it shine.

I printed it pretty big and mounted it on a piece of 6 x 6 patterned paper.  Other than the layers and the hearts I left it alone.  I am really pleased with it.  Please be kind and join in the fun.

Cute or what?

Morning all.  Time for a new challenge at Cardz4galz.  This week is really easy.  We want 'cute dogs' please.

See, told you it would be easy.  OK, borrowing next doors dog is probably cheating. You have to admit though, Bertie is adorable.

Not sure he's as cute as Bertie but this is probably more suitable for the challenge.  Please pop over and join in the fun.  Who doesn't love to see a cute dog.

Curly Wirly

I am totally obsessed with pigs at the moment. Totally obsessed! I blame lockdown.  During the first one my hubby and I discovered a brilliant fun page on Facebook.  Check out Alan B Grylls if you want a soap opera with felt animals.  Be aware of the adult humour.  Anyway, we discovered a whole community of like minded idiots and dived down that rabbit hole when I bought my hubby an Alan the Pig for Christmas.

This is Alan Parr and his girlfriend Sakura helping us put the tent up at a recent festival. My other half has built him a narrow boat to live on.  Apart from the space it occupies in my little craft room it's kept him out of mischief all year.

Where can this possibly be leading to, I hear you ask.  Well, today's challenge at Cardz4guyz is 'Things with Tails'.  Sorry, but there was only one animal I could possibly feature.

The image is from Pernilla Nilsson on Facebook and I love it.  The curly tail was a bit fiddly to cut out but I had to do it.  There is a birthday card swap on amongst the other Pig obsessives (the originals are a Christmas ornament, complete with tutu and crown,  from Gisella Graham) so this will go to whomever I'm paired with. They will, no doubt, have their own little Alan the Pig, or possibly a Steve.  Steve is a penguin.  Honestly, he is!

It's definitely not a card

Morning all.  As it's the start of another week today must be a new Make My Monday Challenge.  It's slightly different this time as we want 'Anything but a Card'.  Ok, the world's your oyster here.  I chose to put my origami skills to the test and created a gift box.

I have a really lovely pad of oriental papers and this fish one made me smile.  It also gave me an opportunity to use my Hero Arts pond die for the fish and the waterlily.  Our waterlily flowered for the first time this year.  It was so pretty.  The ribbon has been in my stash for ages so it was nice to be able to use it.  It's a bit too big to go on a card.

Please join in as I'd love to see what else you can create.

Majestic Monochrome

Morning all.  Time for a new challenge over at Sparkles Monthly Challenge.  Tammy has chosen 'Monochrome' as a theme.  I usually go grey and white for this sort of thing but I stuck to simple Black and White for this stunning elephant stamp. It was a magazine freebie and I've been itching to use it.

Have you noticed all those beautiful little black gemstones.  Aren't they lovely.  And yes, they are there because I smudged the the ink on a pristine white panel!  Inky fingers always let me down.

Please pop over and join in the fun.

Just one word

Morning.  I absolutely love the recent entries for my Insect challenge  on The Alphabet Challenge Blog.  I was stunned by the variety on display.  However, we have to move on to the letter 'J' and 'J' is for 'just one word'.

I recently bought an embossing folder that also cuts out part of the image.  I was testing it out for a wedding card I have been asked to create and I loved the panel it created. I chose to use it for this challenge as just adding the word would let the embossing shine.

I think this folder is going to get a lot of use.

Flock it!

Morning all.  Today we have a fun new theme for you over at Cardz4galz. We would like to see some 'texture' on your projects please.   I loved this one as it gave me an opportunity to use some stuff that's been hanging around my craft room for ages.  I have a whole box full of die cut circles and some of them have a lovely flock pattern on them.

The background paper has also been stuck in a pile for an age too.  I only had to cut my butterfly and stick it together.  I'm really pleased with the result.

There are tonnes of options for adding texture to your cards so please join in the fun.

Ageing Disgracefully

Morning all.  I was so impressed by all the fabulous entries to my 'Shades of Blue' challenge but it's time to move on over at Cardz4guyz. Our new theme is 'Age is just a Number'.  I am fully intent on not acting my age.  I always said I would grow old disgracefully. Despite my body screaming at me that I am the wrong side of 50, Wednesday evenings see me scampering (ok, scampering may be pushing it a bit) about like a kid on the local cricket pitch.  The under 11s think it's hilarious to make me run about.  I try to teach them to do as I say not as I do.  I can't throw for toffee but I can teach them the technique.  I bowl at least one wide every over but I can show them how to do it properly.  As for my batting - well, nowadays I take my glasses off, hand them to the umpire, squint and pray.  They still love it if they can get me out.

Anyway, you don't get many lady cricketing images - and besides it's Cardz4guyz - so I used this fabulous image from Dr Digi's House of Stamps.

I am no where near 60 yet but I know someone who will get there sooner than me.

Please pop over and join in the challenge.  We love to see your projects.

The only slimline thing around here!

Morning all.  We would love to see your 'slimline' projects over at Make My Monday today.  I won't be uploading any selfies then!  Lockdown didn't do my waistline any favours.

For my slimline project I have created another Christmas card.  I did go mad and break out a different sheet of backing paper.  Hang the extravagance - give the cat another goldfish!

I used these cute little dachshunds from The Lovely Studio and cut them out after I'd coloured them. I couldn't resist placing them in a line along my card.  I ran out of space so I still have one doggies head and a dogs bum on my desk.  I can't see them making a card but they may be making me smile.

Please pop over and join in the fun.

Have a very Musical Christmas

Morning all.  I'm an hour late with my post.  Detention for me then.  I just looked at the date on the computer and panicked. Over at Sparkles Christmas Challenge we want to see 'Christmas Music' on your projects please.  When I saw the subject I instantly thought of the perfect image. 'singing so beautifully' from Mo's Digital Pencil seemed just perfect to me.

I coloured it over a couple of days so it didn't cause me too much pain.  And, yes, I have used those same Christmas papers again (pop in tomorrow when I ring the changes a bit).

Please pop over and join in the fun.
