Water, water everywhere

Morning all.  Firstly, I would like to say how impress I was by the 'Wildlife' entries in last week's Cardz4guyz Challenge.  I struggled to pick just three winners and changed my mind several times.  Let's hope that our new 'On the Water' challenge inspires you as well.

I know I've used these papers before but I absolutely love them and they go so well with the images I bought from Le Petite Market on Etsy.  The sentiment is from Crafter's Companion and I just finished it off with a bit of bling.  Simples!

Please pop over and join in the fun.

Feeling Fruity

Morning all.  Today over at Make My Monday we would love to see 'fruit/veg' on your projects please.  Perfect, I just bought a magazine with the ideal stamp as a freebie.

It was such fantastic timing.  I bought the magazine on the way to the hairdressers and didn't actually think about how I would use the stamp and matching die.  Then I saw this week's theme.

In order to get the colouring right I blended a few distress oxides onto a piece of card and positioned the stamp were I thought it looked right.  I did colour the leaf with alcohol markers as it didn't look right in the same ink and my greens are limited.  I can't believe how well the inking turned out.

Ok, over to you lot.  Pop over and see the DT cards.  They're fabulous.

Thanks for reading.

D is for die cuts

Morning all.  Thanks for all the entries into my 'cars' challenge. I enjoyed seeing the different cards.  Over at The Alphabet Challenge we are up to 'D for Die Cuts'.  The problem that I have is that I have so many of them.  In the end I was swayed by the fact that I had a paper pad I hadn't cracked into yet.

I stencilled the background and backed one of my hexagons with some of the pretty paper.  I also fussy cut the bee from another sheet. I chose a sentiment because it fit into that gap.  Now I'm looking at it I wish I'd chosen a 'new home' sentiment.  I may have to do this one again.  I think it would make a lovely new home card.

OK, over to you lot.  Thanks for reading.

Focus on the sentiment

Morning all.  My choices of theme are coming thick and fast at the moment.  Today over at Cardz4galz I have chosen 'a sentiment as a focal point'. I had a fabulous idea for this one.  I found a pretty sentiment about friends being like diamonds.  I heat embossed it on some lavender cardstock.  My plan was to use a diamond die cut to finish off the card.  I've tipped my craft room upside down and can I find that die...can I heck as like!

So, how do you like plan B.

I was going for bright and cheerful, can you tell?

Ok, hit me with your sentiments please. I need to set my craft room straight again.

Thanks for reading.

Guyz goes wild

Morning all.  It's my turn to pick a theme for the Cardz4guyz Challenge.  I would love to see 'wildlife' on your projects please.  I chose to go really wild with my effort.

I've had a little book of masculine toppers for absolutely ages and I never really bother with them.  However, this tag caught my imagination and I used some of the matching elements too.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Please pop over and give me something to pick from.  Go on, go wild!

Dramatic floral frenzy

Morning all.  Thanks to everyone who joined in my Animal Print theme over at Sparkles Monthly Challenge.  However, we must move on and this month we are looking for a 'floral frenzy'.  Here's mine.

Yes, I know I said I wasn't buying anymore papers but these were so pretty and really dramatic and I have no will power!  I used one of the floral patterned papers and one of the cut aparts.  I was stuck for a bit as to how to make it more me.  I decided to use the two larger floral images on the front cover of the paper pad to decoupage the corner bit.  After that it was just a sentiment (also cut out of the front cover) and a bit of bling.

Please pop over and join in the fun.

Broken Tulip

Morning all.  We are looking for your 'spring' projects over at Make My Monday this time.  When I think of spring I always think of Tulips.  They are so pretty.  It's a pity they don't last long.

Fun fact of the week: Streaked tulips are called broken tulips and get their streaks from a virus infection.  This was practically the only think I learnt from trying to plough my way through a book on Tulip mania.  I gave up in the end.  It was hard going.

Also hard going is this lovely wood mounted stamp I've had forever.  I think it's stunning but I'm never pleased with how I colour it.  This is the closest I've got to getting it right but I'm still not happy.  I covered it in sparkle pen to try and make it look better.

Anyway, I'm off to enjoy the last of the tulips in my garden.

Thanks for reading.

Carz

Morning all.  It's my choice of theme for today's Alphabet Challenge so it's 'C for Cars'. I've always been a bit into motor sport.  I've gone off F1 lately but I do like rallying and also the touring car championship.  I did take a rally course years ago.  I will never make a rally driver but it taught me so much.  My husband also owned a rally car years ago and navigated for a friend who drove.  One of my first dates with Will was to a touring car race at Donnington park.  His dad was mortified that he'd taken me to a race meet.  I was as pleased as punch as I'd not been to a race in a couple of years.

A very long while ago Sandy Allnock was having car trouble and drew this cute digi to raise funds to pay the garage bill.  I love it.  I pretty sure it isn't still available.  It's just so cute!

Please pop over and join in the fun.  I need some entries to comment on.

Thanks for reading.

A little drinky!

Morning all.  We have a fresh new challenge for you today over at Cardz4galz.  We are looking for your 'food and/or drink' ideas please.  I decided on drink for my idea as I'd recently done a food card for another challenge.  I've had this stamp, from Crafter's Companion, for a while now but only used it once.  I'm not sure why but it always reminds me of my sister.  Not that she's not fabulous without a drink.  And, to be fair, she's not fussy.  It doesn't have to be Prosecco.  She's going to kill me for this! Sorry Marie.

My other sister is a total lightweight and likes a Lambrini!

I created the background using lots of white die cuts around my heat embossed stamp.  You can't really see it on here but I colour all the die cuts with clear sparkle pen.

OK, over to you.

Thanks for reading.

D...is for Disguise

Yep, I know it's a Tuesday.  Yep, I know the Alphabet Challenge isn't until Friday (besides - we're only up to C).  Never the less, today we are looking for your 'D is for...' projects over at Cardz4guyz.  My first thought was die cuts but I couldn't come up with anything for a guy.  Of course, I can think of loads of ideas now!  Anyway, I remembered a digital stamp I had from years ago.  It's from Doodle Pantry.  I'm not sure if they are still going as they stopped selling in Europe when they changed the rules on VAT.

I absolutely love this stamp and I don't know why I don't use it more often. It's such fun.  I printed the sentiment on some designer paper and just put it all together.

Please pop over and join in the fun.

Sentiment -al Christmas

Morning all.  We want to see your 'Christmas Sentiments' on this month' s Sparkles Christmas Challenge.  This is my second attempt at this challenge as the first one ended in the bin.  It was one of those great ideas that just didn't translate.  I'm pleased I didn't go with it as I love the Christmas Tree die (I got it from The Works) I eventually used.  To be honest I think the backing paper and the smaller trees also came from The Works.  I really spend too much time and money in that shop.

I did cut a wavy border for my trees to stand on but you can't really see it much.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out.  Please pop over and join in the fun.
