'Fun' Fold

Morning all.  Are you ready for a new Make My Monday Challenge.  This time we are looking for 'Fun Fold' cards.  I have to admit to finding fun folds difficult.  I love the stuff that Debbie makes over at Secrets to Stamping.  She's so good at this stuff. I really struggle however.  I have recently discovered Kendra Sands Morgan and I'm a total convert to her new Kendra's Card Challenge.  Whilst watching her You Tube channel I also discovered this Tri fold Shutter Card tutorial. I had some gorgeous oriental papers left over from doing her card challenge and decided to give this a go.

I'm so chuffed with it.  Yes, I've got a couple of false starts on my desk but once I'd got my mountain and valley folds in the right order it came together really well.  I do think I need a new paper trimmer though.  I'm not used to cutting mats for panels (I use a perfect layers tool normally) and it definitely showed up that it's not cutting square.  Oh well, that's another excuse to pop to the craft shop!

Thanks for reading.

Love Dawn x

  5. WOW!!!! What a great fancy fold card! I'm with you - I don't make enough of these to really get the hang of it but this design is a keeper! I would be chuffed with it, too! I really love the "Asian" influenced pattern paper and how you kept the color palette similar but popped it with that bit of gold! Really gorgeous!

  7. Dawn, I see no struggles here at all - you got this, my friend! What a gorgeous card!! Love the paper you used. You are right though, you definitely need a paper trimmer that can cut square! Hope you have a great weekend!
