Patterned Paper Possibilities

Here we are again, on the 15th of the month.  Time for a new challenge at Sparkles Monthly.  I have no excuses for lateness this time as I chose the challenge.  I would like to see 3 or more pattered papers on your projects please.  If you are anything like me you will have hoards of the stuff waiting to be used so here's your chance.

For my card I just picked a sketch from the realms of Pinterest and searched for some pretty papers that would go together.  To be honest, I'd put my card together before I'd even chosen an image to use.  I went with a sweet image (unfortunately, no longer available) from 'From the Heart'. I coloured it in pink and blue to go with my papers and popped it on.

It's not actually a bad way to make a card.  I didn't have to agonise over my colour scheme and then try to match my papers.  Maybe I've been doing it the wrong way around all these years.  I bet I forget next time I feel like colouring.  Anyway, please nip over and join in the fun.  The DT have come up with some stunners for inspiration.

Fore Dad!

Morning all.  Are you ready for a new challenge for the one special man in your life.  Yes, of course I mean you dad!  We have Father's Day coming up in the UK so, over at Cardz4guyz, that's what we want to see - your Father's Day cards.

I will confess that my card is not for my dad.  Golf was never a sport he was bothered about.  A friend of mine has asked me to make her dad a card and Golf is definitely his thing, and hers, and her sons.  I've kept the layout simple and used a golf ball image from Doodle Pantry (no longer trading) and the sentiment is From the Heart (also closed due to Faith's untimely passing). Just a bit of layering and a tiny little touch of bling - I can't help myself!

I did sparkle the letters on the golf ball with a bit of Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen, which is why the letters look darker than the border.

You may keep your eyes peeled for my dad's card - and his birthday card - as they, so inconveniently, fall on the same day this year.  Mum says I can't blame him.  He came way before Father's Day was invented.

Please pop over to join in the fun.

All Washi'd Up

Alright, hands up, who's got dozens of rolls of unused washi tape?  Yep, thought so.  Me too.  Well, now is your chance to get it out and use it.  This week's challenge at Cardz4guyz is to use the stuff.  I buy it 'cause it's pretty but then I'm at a loss as to what to do with it.  Anyway, my oldest washi tape has a lovely diamond pattern on it.  A bit like the Pringle design you get on golfing jumpers.  I have the same design in two colourways so I got it out and stuck some to the front of my card.  As it was another golf card I've dragged out my little pigwit golfer again.  He's no longer available, I'm sorry to say, as the artist passed away some time ago. He is perfect for the golfers in you life though.  What do you think?

As the challenge was to use the tape I left it fairly plain and simple.  The sentiment inside came with the set and it's perfect for this.  It just says 'May the Course be with You'.

Please pop over and show us your ideas.  I've still got tonnes of the stuff lying in wait ready to be used.  I could do with the inspiration.

21 Again!

Morning all.  Time for another challenge at Make My Monday.  Debbie has chosen the theme of 'Wings', although I have offered to chose the winners for her as she is very busy at the moment.

I have to admit to going a little 'left field' with my wings.  I had a card in mind using a dragonfly stamp but I have no clue where it is as I haven't used it in donkey's years.  Instead I went for a sweet little flying pig.  It's no longer available I'm afraid as the artist (Faith of From the Heart Stamps) passed away.  I do still regularly use her wonderful images and they always make me smile.

What do you think?  It's not exactly as I intended it to be as I found this rainbow backing paper and decided I wanted to use it.  I wish I'd kept to my original plan but never mind.  I put a little sparkle on her necklace and added the sequins as it was a bit bland.

Of course I wouldn't claim to be 21 again.  I'm only 35...and if you believe that then pigs really would fly!
