Campervantastic

Morning all.  Over at Cardz4guyz this week we are looking for 'camping or other outdoor activities' please.  I miss camping.  I was never lucky enough to have a VW camper but I had a Mazda Bongo camper van and it was such fun.  Unfortunately, it wasn't very economical to run on a daily basis so we sold it when we bought the boat.  We do have a tent but it's not the same as the campervan.

I'm not sure about letting the koala drive.  I do love this stamp set from Tracey Hey.  To be honest, I love all her cute characters and I don't use her stamps often enough.  I buy them and then lose my confidence in colouring them.

OK, let's see what you all get up to outdoors.

Thanks for reading.

Take three ingredients

It's my turn to chose the subject, and the winners, for today's Cardz4galz challenge and I've chosen to give you a three ingredient recipe.  I'm looking for 'a stencil, an image and a sentiment' on your projects please.  This gave me an excellent excuse to get my Tracey Hey Stamps out of storage as I think they look fab on a stencilled background.

I blended three colours of ink in the background but got a rainbow of coloured hearts to I was thrilled to fine the sentiment to go with it.

Please pop over and join in my challenge.  I'd love to see what you all create.

Thanks for reading.

Splat!

Morning all. I know it's Tuesday (don't ask how busy I've been - I don't know whether I'm coming or going). I'm sorry it's late but over at Make My Monday we would like to see 'spatters' please.  Mine's more of a splat that a splatter but there are a couple of extra bits so in my mind it counts.

I cut the design on my cricut intending to use it on a card but I loved the hole it made and decided to use it as a stencil instead.  The sentiment is from an Alpaca Pals stamp set from Tracey Hey.  Ok, I'm off to work.  Let's see your spatters please.

Something Sparkly

Morning all.  My turn to pick the topic for today's Cardz4galz  challenge.  Time to get the sparkly stuff out.  Galz love a bit of sparkle. I want you all to 'make it sparkle'.  Then you can all struggle to upload a decent picture - just like I did.  I honestly didn't have this in mind when I chose the topic.  However, I recently watch this video by Natasha Foote and I felt the urge to get out my very old Twinkling H2Os.

It really is a rubbish photo.  It really sparkles in real life.  I used a stamp from Tracey Hey and heat embossed it in silver before painting it with the H2Os.  They contain mica to make them shine.  I added a few sequins just to finish it off and matted it on some shiny blue card.

OK, time to crack out the shiny stuff.

Beautiful Backgrounds

Morning all.  It's time for a new challenge over at Cardz4guyz this morning. Cindy chose the theme of 'create your own background' for this fortnight. I wasn't entirely sure what to do for this one so I turned to my stamps first.  Once I had an image in mind I was sure the background would pop into my head.  And that's exactly what happened. I chose this cute set from Tracey Hey and the rest was easy peasy.

Once I had the zebra in my mind I stenciled the background using a cheap stencil from the Range.  I have a set of animal print stencils and this is one of them.  As I intended to make my zebra colourful it made sense to used coloured inks.  I am so pleased with how it turned out.

Please pop over and join in the fun.  I don't very often create my own backgrounds so I would love to see your ideas.

Thanks for reading.

Watch the Birdie

Morning all.  I bet you are fed up with seeing me this week.  We have a new subject over at The Alphabet Challenge today.  We are looking for 'B for Bird' projects. I was spoilt for choice with this one as I have several bird images.  They always came in handy for dad cards as my dad loved birds.  He kept Yorkshire Canaries, like his dad did before him, but he loved all sorts of feathery friends.  He once walked my mum miles to show her a duck with a blue beak that he'd seen on a pond.  When they got there it had disappeared.  She didn't believe him so he found a picture of one in a bird book.  It was called a Ruddy Duck.  You can guess what my mum said. 'Ruddy Duck'!

I'm digressing.  I chose a bird that you wouldn't usually see flying about.  Although we did see one walking up our street a couple of times.  I have no idea where it came from but several people said they'd seen it wandering about.

I mounted my Tracey Hey Peacock on a circle I created from strips of scrap card.  I spaced them out on acetate before die cutting the circle and popped it up on a matted square.  The peacock tail is sparkly but you can't really tell from the picture.  It's probably not a card I would have sent to dad.  It's a bit girly.  I never did find a stamp of a Ruddy Duck.

Please pop over and join in the fun.

Ink Credible Art

Morning all.  I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend.  Back to normal this morning but, before I go to work, let's check out the new challenge at Cardz4guyz.  Pamela would like us to use something new from your stash.  Now, if that isn't an excuse to go shopping I don't know what is.  To be fair, I didn't need to go shopping as I already had a lovely stamp set that Mum and Dad gave me for my birthday and I hadn't had chance to ink yet.  I totally fell for the cute art work from Tracey Hey and I will be getting more of her stamps in the future.  I regularly visit Kuni's Bastelblog as she often joins our challenge and it was her cards that led me to discover Tracey's stamps.  If you need inspiration please check out her blog.  You won't be disappointed.

Isn't he the cutest?  I really enjoyed colouring him and, once I'd finished, I decided to leave him be.  I really don't think he needed any adornment.  I just love his cute little boots.

OK, now let's see what you've got new in your stash.

Thanks for reading.
