Throw some flowers at it

Morning all, again.  As it's the 15th of the month we have a new challenge over at Sparkles Monthly.  We would love to see a 'Floral Extravaganza' (yes, I did have to check how to spell it).  I bought a beautiful digistamp from Alex Syberia on Etsy.  It was perfect for this challenge.  I started colouring it in soft pinks and grey.  It was going to take me days to do with my wrist splints on.  Then I tipped a cup of tea all over it and I couldn't bring myself to try again.  Hopefully, when the splints are off I can have another go.  Instead I reached for the huge box of floral embellishments that hardly ever sees the light of day.

As you can probably tell, I put a panel on a card front and basically threw some flowers at it.  I did add a few pearls on stems that were also in the floral box.  Oh well, it's a bit more stash used up I suppose.

Please pop over and join in the fun.  I'm sure you all have some floral extravagance in you somewhere.

And they called it Puppy Love

Morning all.  We would love to see you 'Dogs and Puppies' projects for this fortnights Cardz4guyz Challenge.  I dug through some really old digis for this one.  I think they were a magazine freebie years ago.  I thought the image was so sweet.

I did manage to colour the image but I kept the design very simple, using up a couple of die shapes I had hanging around.

Please pop over and check out the design team inspiration and have a play along.

Go Outdoors

Morning all. We have a new challenge for you this morning from Make My Monday.  We would like some 'outdoor fun'.  Now we can get outdoors finally, I love to walk along the canals locally.  I've just joined the Canal and River Trust which is an organisation that keeps the canals and towpaths safe for us to enjoy.  I think my other half would prefer to be on a narrowboat but we will have to be satisfied with walking the paths, unless we win the lottery.

You may notice my style becoming a little simpler in the next few weeks.  I have suspected carpal tunnel syndrome so my wrists are in splints.  I managed to colour these images (a magazine freebie) before the splints went on.  I can still do it. I just have to do it in shifts.

Please pop over and see what the DT have created.  We'd love to see your creations too.

Thanks for reading.

Easy Does It

Morning all. You don't have any excuses for missing the Alphabet Challenge this fortnight. We are wanting 'E for Easy' makes. Keep it simple and with the minimum of fuss and embellishment.  Everyone can make an 'easy' card, surely.

Actually, I find these type of cards often take a lot of thinking about. They may be 'easy' to make but it's hard to make them eye catching, I think.  Anyway, here's my effort.

I used a simple layering stamp so I didn't have to do any colouring and mounted it on a die cut panel.  Simples!  I couldn't resist the little gems just to finish it off. The hardest thing about this one was getting the stamping layers right.

OK, over to you. Please join in the fun.

Yummy Summer

Morning all.  We have a lovely new theme for you over at Cardz4galz this morning.  We are looking for 'Summer Fun'.  For my 'fun' I am going with something sweet and yummy looking. In fact, the image is called Yummy and is available from the Paper Shelter.

I picked some pretty papers from my stash and coloured the ice cream in strawberry, chocolate and vanilla flavours. That reminds me, I have a tub of Ben and Jerry's in the freezer.  Right, I'm off.  Please pop over and join in the fun.

Father's Day

I always knew that June was going to be hard this year.  Cardz4guyz inevitably want a father's day card and that's the theme for this fortnight.  This will be the first father's day without my dad, and to really finish me off, Dad's birthday was always the same week.  I decided to get through this by going for a totally 'not my dad' card. Dad loved sport but was never a golf fan.  So, golf it is.

I cut the background on my cricut and the sentiment and golf clubs are from Dr Digi's House of Stamps. It's more suitable for my son than my dad, or my other half, but I'm way too young to be a granny yet! Yes, both my younger sisters have grandchildren.  Yes, I am still too young, so there!

Please pop over to join in the fun.

Kristmas

I have exciting news today as I start my stint on a new design team over at Sparkles Christmas Challenge.  It's a monthly challenge and this month we want your 'Kraft Christmas Cards'.  With the design I came up with you get the added bonus of two cards for one.

As I had inlaid my snowflakes it meant I could make a white on Kraft and then a Kraft on white.  You never know, this year I may not be on the last minute come December.

Thanks for reading - if you pop back in half an hour the usual Cardz4guyz post will be up.
