Something very close to my heart

Something very close to my heart is my stomach!  And today's theme at Make My Monday was always going to be a favourite of mine.  We want to see 'Food and/or Drink' on your makes this time please. I chose to go with food simply because I had bought yet another digital stamp set from Le Petite Market on Etsy .  This time it was a cute set of Sushi images.  Mmm, Sushi 💓💓

I coloured the images and paired them with some pretty oriental papers.  I used the computer to generate the sentiment and I'm pleased with how this all came together.

Please join in and show my your favourite food and drink suggestions.

X is for Xanthic - yep, I had to look it up too

Morning all.  Over at The Alphabet Challenge we have 'X for Xanthic'.  Apparently it means tending towards a yellow colour.  Well, just to be on the safe side I've gone very yellow.

I had this lovely yellow paper with a blue floral pattern on for ages.  The pattern goes in strips so it was itching to be turned into a slimline card.  I just added a sentiment and some butterflies and finished it with some gems.  Really simple to create but I'm pleased with it.  I didn't expect to like it.  Yellow is my least favourite colour.

Don't let that stop you joining in the fun.  Let's celebrate all things 'Xanthic'

Wingy Things

Morning all.  Can you remember me mentioning a cute robin that I wanted to colour for my winter card but I ran out of time.  Well today over at Cardz4galz it gets to shine.  We are looking for 'Things with Wings'.  It's always a popular one this one.  I was just glad to find a reason to colour one of these cute images.  I am totally obsessed with Le Petite Market over on Etsy.  I've bought several digital stamp sets recently so you will be seeing more.

I'm still on a mission to clear out my scraps so the background is made of strips from some bits I had left over.  Once I had the panel I stuck it in an embossing folder for added interest.

I'm really pleased with how this one turned out.

Please pop over and join in the fun.

You know how much I love a fun fold...

Morning all.  We would like to see your 'fun fold' cards this week over at Cardz4guyz.  I really do want to find these cards fun.  I keep promising to join in at Debbie's Creative Creases Challenge as she's such a supportive friend and has such inspirational cards.  I really do struggle though.  I even have an SVG template for my cricut for today's card and you really don't want to know how many I cut out before I was happy.  Needless to say I won't be short of paper scraps for a while.

I popped into The Range last week.  They have an Iceland section and I needed some frozen veg.  No, bear with me.  It is all connected I promise.  Since they had to make room for the Iceland bit their craft section has reduced a bit.  However, they did have some new racks stuffed full off 12x12 paper pads.  Sorry, it had to be done.  So, two pads, a pack of puffy stickers and a bag of frozen peas later I had a great idea for my card.  The Llama was a magazine freebie stamp (along with the sentiment) and I knew they would make a brilliant Guyz card with this paper.  I suppose they did...eventually.  Maybe I just need more practice. I'm sure Debbie Mageed  will give me ample encouragement.

Big and little

Morning all.  We have a new monthly challenge for you today over at Sparkles Monthly Challenge.  We are looking for something 'big and small' on your projects please.  I couldn't resist doing a little mummy and baby thing with this one and you all know what a sucker I am for Koalas.

The image is from Sweet Escape Digis and I used one of my pre-assembled backgrounds to mount it on.  I have left room for a sentiment at the bottom as I'm not sure what I will use it for at the moment.  I'm trying to get rid of some of my pre-assembled backrounds.  It's ok sorting your scraps out and creating them but just popping them in another box isn't really much help.  I need to get rid. Besides, I've got more scraps to use now.  It's never ending, isn't it.

Please pop over and join in the fun.

I 'heart' Van Gogh

Morning all.  Happy Valentine's Day.  We have a romantic new theme on the Make My Monday Challenge and would like to see 'hearts' on your projects please.

I was really please when my son asked me if I'd make him a valentine's card for his girlfriend.  In all the years I've been doing cards he's only ever asked for two.  The other was for her graduation.  Of course I was chuffed to bits and asked if he'd got anything in particular in mind.  Yes he says and promptly shows me that he's bought tickets to the 'Van Gogh' exhibition in Brick Lane.  To say that I'm a little jealous is an understatement.  I did suggest he take his mother instead but he declined! I've been looking at tickets for the one in Salford but it finishes in a couple of weeks and I just haven't got time spare.  Oh well, at least I can take pride in the fact that I raised a romantic soul and hope they enjoy themselves😒

So off I pop to find a suitable sunflower image that I can create into a floating heart.  Well, I went one better and found this beautiful image
over at Twinkle Lane Designs.  Honestly, she could have read my mind.  It has a bow on the image but, once I'd coloured it, I just cut that bit off. The sunflowers are all sparkly with spectrum noir glitter pen but you can't see it on here.  He was really pleased with it.  I suppose I'll find out later if his girlfriend was.

OK, over to you.

Winter, brrr or grrr

So I'm running behind with my DT projects this week and to top things off we are two short in the office and I ended up doing extra hours tonight to finish a project.  I'm on my own tomorrow (congratulations to Jade on your Graduation) so I know I've got to finish a card today.  We have W for Winter over at The Alphabet Challenge and I have been planning a lovely card with a digistamp of a robin on it.  Well, I got home and decided that I didn't have enough time to colour an image so I would cut something on my cricut.

Well, after several failed attempts and a codging together of some glitter paper, I may as well have coloured the image.

I wish I had matted the layers and I wish I had a brighter backing paper but, considering the frustration I've had  I'm OK with the result.  I'll take another look when I've had a gin and I'm sure I will be much happier.

Please pop over and inspire us with your winter cards.

Feeling Krafty

Morning all.  I was so impressed by all the 'sparkly' entrants to my last Cardz4galz challenge I had some series issues just picking 4 winners.  I'm hoping you are ready for the new challenge and can inspire us with your 'Kraft' projects.  I have several Kraft patterned paper pads so this one came together really easily.

A quick search in my box of toppers found a focal point and it just fell into place.  I wish all cards were this easy.

Please pop over and join the fun.

Love it Guyz

Morning all.  With Valentine's day around the corner we have  a 'Love' theme over at Cardz4guyz today.  Don't you find that Love is a hard one for fellas.  Well, if you need any inspiration pop over and see.  The DT have a wide and varied selection for you.  So, what do my guyz love more than me.  Well, for the OH it would be coffee.  But for my son it's probably sport.  I think I come in behind football for both of them.  So, here's what I came up with.

The main motif is a cricut file and I just thought it was perfect.  They do a rugby one too (or it maybe American Football).  To be honest I think either would have be ok for No 1 son.

OK, let's see what you can come up with for the men in your life.

Going for Gold

Morning all.  We would love to see some Gold on your Christmas Creations over at Sparkles Christmas Challenge this month.  I went all out and found gold paper and a gold snowflake before cutting a gold sentiment.  Can you tell the theme is gold?

Even the flecked backing panel had gold bits in it.  I think I fulfilled the brief.  OK, over to you.
