Morning all. Time for a new challenge over at Back to Basics and Beyond. The Salt Technique is new to me. I've never tried it before. To be honest, I wasn't sure it was really me. I've got some watercolours - up to now they've mainly been for show as I rarely use them. I have watercolour paper...just in case I ever do decide to break out the paint. I was even surprised to find we had rock salt in the kitchen cupboard. Heaven knows how long that's been in there. I can't remember buying it. So there it is. No excuses. I have the means to do the deed - and, strangely enough, I really enjoyed it. I fully expected this to be a pain - especially as I have no patience - but I am keen to try it again. I used a deep blue and purple before sprinkling on the salt. Once I had the background I just needed to find a die cut to top it. I cut the 'just because' on my cricut out of black glitter card and used the same colours to paint my butterfly wings.
I'm so chuffed with this. What do you think?
Pop over to see what the rest of the DT have come up with and I can recommend giving this one a try.
Thanks for reading.
