Love Coffee?

Morning all.  We are looking for 'stencilled' projects over at Make My Monday this week.  I do love stencils but I don't use them often.  My favourite place to go for stencils has to be Funky Fossil.  They have such unusual designs.  I've had a coffee bean stencil for a while and I've not used it yet so this was an ideal opportunity.

I had some coffee themed papers with some cut aparts so this came together pretty easily.  I'm sure you've all got loads of stencils to use so please join in the fun.

You Zig, I'll Zag

Morning all.  We are up to 'Z for Zig Zags' over at The Alphabet Challenge  and I have to admit this card took me no time at all.  I found the perfect backing paper with huge zigzags on it and let it do all the work.

I've had the elephant topper in my stash forever and the purple and green matched so on it went.  It's got to be the simplest thing I've made in ages.  I wish they were all as easy.

Spring again - for mum this time

Well, if I struggled to make a spring card for a man, today's Cardz4galz Challenge should be a doddle.  We are looking for Spring Flowers for Mum.  Sunday being mother's day in the UK. Spring flowers remind me of my Gran.  Her birthday was the first day of spring and she always had some hyachinths.  I planted them some in my garden when she passed away and, sure enough, they popped into flower this week.

No hyachinths on my card but I did chose some lovely fresh colours.  The stamp is an old one from Digistamp Boutique (no longer available). I just coloured it to match my papers and added some bling.  It's on it's way to Salisbury to Will's mum at as I write.  Just got mum's to do now.

Please pop over and join the fun.

A spring card for the guyz

Afternoon all.  Yes, I know it's late.  I should have posted this morning but things haven't gone to plan.  Over at Cardz4guyz we have the subject of 'equinox seasonal change' which, when you get down to it means spring.  I'm not gonna lie, this one was a challenge.  Normal spring image - daffs, tulips, lambs and chicks - seemed a bit girly.  I decided to go with a quote from Baer Design Studio.  After that I just needed some images.  I wanted bright cheerful images that looked ready to party and, as the insects appear to be waking up in the garden, these images from Goebie seemed to fit the bill.

It's a little bit different than I intended but, once I had the quote, it seemed to fit.  It's nice to see some of the bees and things popping up now the sun is shinning a bit. I won't let Will mow the grass so that they can get pollen from the dandelions. Not popular with him but they need looking after and there's not much else out yet.

Please pop over and join in the fun.

Something Fishy Going On

Morning all.  It's the 15th of the month so we have a new challenge for you at Sparkles Monthly Challenge.  We are looking for something 'for men only' this time.  Anyone who has followed my blog recently can't help but have noticed my obsession with a digital stamp company on Etsy.  Le Petite Market have become my go to shop just recently.  I've let you off for the last couple of posts so it's time to try another one of their sets. I bought a set of nautical clipart recently and it's perfect for this challenge.

There are so many different images in this set but I chose to go with three of the cutest fish.  They are perfect for yet another recent paper pad purchase.  There can't be many paper pads I haven't got by now.  I really must shop with blinkers on!  I've got tonnes more of the digi images printed out so it should keep me out of mischief for a bit.

Please pop over and play.

Blue, Purple and Yellow

Morning all.  This morning over at Make My Monday we have a colour combo for you.  Jackie has chosen 'Blue, Purple and Yellow'.  Thank you Jackie.  It's not a combo I would have purposely put together but it's perfect for a set of papers I've got.

Do you ever really fall in love with patterned paper and then find yourself at a loss as to what to do with it?  I found a pad a few months ago at The Works and just had to have it.  The deep colours of the irises on the paper really spoke to me.  Of course, as soon as I got it home it immediately shut it's trap and I was stuck for ideas! Until Jackie set this challenge that is.

Isn't that iris gorgeous?  The pad is a 12x12 so some of the papers have patterns that would dominate a card.  So why not let them do just that.  I cut out the iris and layered it up for dimension. I'm am so pleased with how it turned out.

Please pop over and join in the fun.  I'd love to see your colour combo creations.

Procraftinating

Well, what do you do with your Sunday when you have 5 birthday cards and two design team projects to do.  You spot a blog challenge you haven't entered in a while and decide to play instead.  In my defence it just looked like a challenge that would help clear out my some of my scraps.

Here is my take on this week's Sketch Saturday Challenge .

And here's the sketch:

I just thought the bright and cheerful pink paper would make a lovely get well soon card.  What do you think?

How do you choose?

Morning all.  We have a very individual choice for you over at The Alphabet Challenge.  We want 'Your' favourite colour combinations please.  However are you supposed to choose?  It really depends on my mood.  I love pink and green.  I also love the blue and yellow I'm seeing on so many creations recently (and fully endorse the wish for peace that goes with that combo).  I love cream and brown - and blue and brown for that matter.  Decisions, decisions.  In the end I chose to go with the team colours of my favourite NFL team.  Black and gold (Geaux Saints).

It did help that one of my recent paper pad purchases is made up of exactly that. I used one of the cut aparts and layered it on some foam squares for dimension. The only other thing I did was throw some gold gems at it.  I did toy with the idea of making it a graduation card by adding a mortar board to it.  I think the sentiment would work so well for that type of card.  In the end I left it as it was.

Please pop over and show is your favourite combo.

Safari So Goody

Morning all.  How about something different for the Galz this week.  Over on the Cardz4galz Challenge we are looking for 'Zoo or Safari Animals'.  I bought this fabulous set from Le Petite Market (yes, them again - I'm obsessed) but I wanted it to look girly instead of boyish.  I used peach coloured background paper to try and achieve this.  I still think it could be unisex but I'm chuffed with the result.

My dark green colour was a little hard to blend out on the jeep but I think it gives a sort of camouflage look so I left it as it was (well, that's my excuse anyway). On a plus point all the papers were from my scrap stash and the tiny binoculars have been in my tin for about 15 years.

OK, over to you guys.

Skinny Coffee Anyone?

Morning all.  Today we would like to see your 'slimline' cards over at Cardz4guyz.  I've been liking the slimline look just lately.  I'm hoping if I do enough my waistline may get the hint.

I recently bought a couple of new paper pads from The Range.  Yes, I know I said I was trying to use my stash but I have no will power (hence the waistline).  Ok, I bought three!  I admit it.  They even hid them out of the way but I wouldn't let them defeat me 😂

Anyway, one was perfect for my husband and had some fabulous coffee cut aparts.  There was even a full size version of the one I've used on my card so I've framed it and hung it in the kitchen.

Being a tea drinker I'm not sure I agree with the sentiment but I wouldn't say that out loud if my husband was around.

Please pop over and show us your slimline makes.

Santa Rocks!

Morning all.  My husband wanted to know why I was colouring a Santa image at the end of February.  It's because the theme over at Sparkles Christmas Challenge is 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town'.  In a bid to tidy my craft room, yet again, I am trying not to print more images and use some of the ones I've got lying in a drawer.  Would you believe I could only find one Santa.  He is a cutie though so I've gone with it.  The image is from Gerda Steiner Designs and, although I have had it for years it is still available.

I'm not sure that he's playing Jingle Bells but what ever he's playing he's rocking out to it.

Please pop over to show us your Santas.
