Layering it up up and away

 Morning all.  We are looking for 'lots of layers -at least three' on your projects today over at Cardz4guyz.  My first instinct for this one was decoupage. I dug out some of my sheets and found a nice picture with birds on.  I layered it up and couldn't get it to look right on a card. I come to the conclusion that decoupage is not my style so I shall be getting rid of the rest of my sheets.  To be fair, I'm not much of a fan of my alternative idea but here it is.

I couldn't seem to get enough depth in my colouring on this image and the photo doesn't show it up well either.  I really need to sort out a proper spot for taking my photos on the boat.  

I matted the first layer then laid two circles over that.  The third layer is the white overlapping circle and the image finishes it off.

Man Up for Monday

 Morning all. We are looking for 'Masculine' projects today over at Make My Monday.  Perfect if you are in the UK for father's day in June.  I dug out a really old digi stamp for this one.  It's so old I don't even know who to credit for it (sorry, please let me know if you know so I can do the honours).  I love this image for a man but I can't even use it for the O/H as he doesn't drink.

It's totally weird but  always want to colour him green and orange.  I picked some colourful papers to use on the card and left it at that.

Here be dragons (well, dragonflies)

 Morning all.  We have arrived at the letter D at The Alphabet Challenge this morning.  We are looking for Dragonflies on your projects please.  We do see lots of these on the river and canal but not so many on the Marina.  Never mind, I've got a few here. I bought a set of three digistamps at Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez over on Etsy.  I loved them all so I made three cards.  

I coloured them all with the same coloured markers and gave their wings a bit of sparkle with a glitter pen. I can't believe I found three different ready made background in my stash with just the right colours.  I obviously had a lot of green and blue scrap paper when I made them.

Three for the price of one

 Morning all.  Posts are coming thick and fast this week.  We have a new challenge to inspire you over at Cardz4galz today - we would like to see your 'Backgrounds' please.

I have to admit this one did take me a while to put together but I did manage to create three cards at the same time.

I have a set of decorative tile dies.  I think they are Xcut.  I've had them so log I'm not sure.  I cut the same die in three different colours and then just inlaid the pieces.  I then did the same twice more until all the bits had been used up.

I love how they turned out but it was a bit of a trial by the time I'd finished.  I'd like to see other interpretations for this theme so I'd love it if you joined in.

On your bike

 Morning all.  Apparently it's National Bi-Pedal week.  I didn't even know such a thing existed.  Every day's a school day.  Anyway, to celebrate we are taking that as our theme over at Cardz4guyz this fortnight.  So, bikes it is.  

Before moving house I used up lots of scraps of paper by putting together ready to go backgrounds. I've still got loads in plastic wallets just ready to finish off.  This is one of those backgrounds.  All I did was stamp my sentiment and add the bike.  I'm really pleased with it.

Winging it

 Morning all.  Today we have a lovely new theme at Sparkles Monthly Challenge. We are looking for 'things with wings'. There are plenty of things with wings on the marina here.  The coots bully the ducks something rotten.  I did have a lovely swan stick his head through the duck hatch when I was working yesterday.

Anyway, I didn't choose a bird for this one.  Instead I went for a couple of butterflies.

Wow, that took way longer than I thought

 Hi all, have you missed me?  I moved house way back in February but it's taken until now to sort out our internet issues and find somewhere to stash my craft stash.  'What's the problem' you ask.  Here's a picture of my new home.

Needless to say, I don't have a craft room any more. It's all stashed under the dinette.

Anyway, now that I'm back it's time I dropped back into DT mode.  The theme over at Make My Monday today is to go Clean and Simple.  Fine by me.  Most of my craft stuff is still in boxes in the storeroom at work.

The stamp set is a freebie from a magazine that I bought in a moment of weakness.  My random craft purchases are really going to have to stop.  I have nowhere to put them.  Anyway, it's the only stamp set on the boat at the moment so this will have to do.  I inked the spots with a stencil for a little bit of interest then stuck the sentiment on.  I hope you like it.
