This Wonder Women Wonders where she's put her Craft Glue

Morning all.  Over at Cardz4galz we have the theme of 'Movie Madness' for you.  Be inspired by your favourite film - or any film.  I had a fun digistamp of Wonder Woman (by Bugaboo and no longer available) already printed  so it seemed like the obvious choice.  All I needed to do was to colour her up and add some pretty papers.  Then I decided to use a couple of dies as well.  It's ended up about a quarter inch think by the time I had added all the layers.

I used so much paper and card my desk is an absolute tip.  So, as a result, I am now Wonder Woman.  I wonder where my glue is, my scissors, my ruler and my double sided tape. Off to tidy up before tomorrow's Alphabet Challenge.

Christmas in ... August?

Just so you are well ahead with the Christmas cards you started last month we have 'Christmas in August' for you at Make My Monday.  I still can't get in the mood for seasonal cards.  If it wasn't for these sorts of blog challenges I'd be still making cards on Christmas Eve - and it wouldn't be the first time that had happened.  I kept this simple and used an image I'd coloured and not used (image from Bugaboo and no longer available I'm afraid)

So there he sits, waiting for Santa.  He's got a couple of months yet.

Ok, over to you.

Colouring fun

Morning all.  This week's challenge at Make My Monday is suitable for all.  Didn't you just love colouring in when you where little.  I know I did.  I still love it now and I have a good reason to do it.  Let's see your 'Colouring' (any medium) please.

When I first started colouring images for my cards I used water colour pencils (not very successfully).  Then a friend gave me some promarkers that she no longer used.  There was plenty of life left in them and I'm still using them.  I've also added a full set of Spetrum Noir markers to my collection so I have plenty of options.  It took me so long to get brave enough to go bold with my colours.  I'm glad I did though.  It makes such a difference.  This is an old image from Bugaboo (no longer available, sadly).  I have coloured it so many times in so many colours but pink and green are one of my favourites.

Ok, crack out those pens, pencils, inks and paints and let's see your creations.

Animal Antics

Here we go again.  Over at The Alphabet Challenge we are back to the letter A and it's 'Animal Antics' that we are looking for.  I went searching through my printed out digis for something and found a really fun sheep from Bugaboo Stamps (no longer available as Jodie has shut the shop - gutted).

I found some fun backing papers with lots of metallic spots on and I love how it turned out.  I even managed to use a scrap of the zig zag paper from last time's challenge.  Continuity as well!  I spoil you.

Please pop over and join in the fun.

Party Animal

Morning all.  We are up to P for Party over at The Alphabet Challenge.  Here in the UK we are in Lockdown once again so this is the nearest you are going to get to a party in the next month.  If you needed an excuse to join in then that's got you covered.  They can't fine you for joining a virtual party.  During the first lockdown we had a virtual cheese and wine party on a crafty Facebook group I'm on. I baked a camembert and drank quite a bit of white wine.  Well, you have to show willing don't you.

My party card started with a fun image from Bugaboo.  I chose the spotty backing paper and coloured my image to match.  Then I sat and fussy cut the whole thing out 'cause my little piggy bled out the lines and there was no way I was starting again.  I die cut lots of white balloons to add to my card blank for a tone on tone effect before sticking the rest of it together.  I'd had to cut off the 'happy' part of the stamp so I added 'wishes' instead. You can't see it but I covered the balloons and presents with Spectrum Noir sparkle pen.  I also added it to the chocolate chip ice cream.  Mmm, ice cream.  Do you think that is an acceptable choice for a breakfast this morning?  I'm tempted.

Ok, time for you all to get your party on.  Pop over to the blog and see the awesome inspiration and please join in the fun.

A Bit Sketchy

Morning all.  Are you ready for a new challenge for the Guyz in your life.  This week at Cardz4guyz we have a sketch for you to follow.

Fairly simple don't you think.  I had several ideas in mind for this but I was colouring some images and trying to keep quiet (and not wake the sleeping husband) the other day and I came up with this for a plan.

OK, so I flipped the sketch but that's allowed and you can use any shape where the star is.  It just has endless potential.  I couldn't really remember who's image it was but I've had a trawl through my files and it's this one at Bugaboo.  The congratulations stamp on the circle die was an old - and by old I mean ancient - wood mounted one that I had to go searching in the depths of the cupboard for. I can't remember the last time I used a wood mounted stamp and I'm gobsmacked it worked so well.

Ok folks, your turn.  Let's see what you've got.

A little dose of cuteness to keep you going.

Morning all.  Time for a new challenge at Cardz4Galz and, just to make you smile in this time of craziness, we would like to see some cute animals.  For a long time now my husband has been in the habit of finding some cute video on YouTube or Facebook first thing in the morning and showing me my dose of 'morning cuteness' before I go to work.  Give it a go.  It's much better than going out after viewing the news.  He usually picks something with a kitten or a koala.  Well, for my dose of cuteness I've gone the Kitty route.

I die cut lots of 'Birthdays' to create a tone on tone background and coloured this cute little guy from Bugaboo.  He's part of a block of three images but I really only needed him.  I did add some sparkle pen to his nose and hat before matting him on some layers of red and blue to match my scheme.

I hope you are all safe and well out there and can find some time to join in our fun challenge.  We really need more doses of cuteness to cheer us all up.

I can Bearly Contain Myself

Yes, the scanner is working again.  I have no idea what I've done to it.  Maybe the fairy's did turn up after all (see my last post).  And if they did turn up they forgot to hoover!

Anyway, on to today's challenge over at Cardz4guyz.  Please can we see Teddy Bears on your projects.  Now, don't tell them, but we have some very special bears in our house.  They are in charge of fighting the monsters under the bed so we can sleep soundly at night.  Yes, I am the wrong side of 50,  yes, I do still have all my marbles, and yes I do have two way conversations with Francis, Edward, Monty, Christopher, Charlotte and Jennifer Alice.  Well, in the case of Christopher they are usually heated debates.  I'm not the only one. Both my husband and my son also talk to them!

Did I come on here to show you a card or to admit to my little foibles. Here it is.

I've used a lovely sweet stamp from Bugaboo.  She's got lot's of fun teddy images and I own several. I created the card blank ages ago from some left over backing paper I'd used on another project.  I've got a basket of them but I forget to do anything with them.  I'm trying to get around to using them.

Anyway, I'm off to moan at Christopher for keeping me awake fight the monsters last night.  British Bulldogs is not a game for Mondays.  Maybe I can persuade him to fight them at Tiddlywinks tonight!

It's Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Actually, it's beginning to look a lot like a bomb site.  I'm starting to panic now as my Christmas Fairs are coming close and I'm no where near ready.  This month's challenge at Sparkles Monthly did at least give me an excuse for another card.  The challenge is the same as my blog title - 'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas'.  Come on, join in, you know that you need an excuse to do more Christmas cards.  Well, this is it.

My image is from Bugaboo Stamps  and I loved colouring it.  You can't really see it on the photo but I've covered bits in sparkle pen so it shines.

Why don't you pop over and join in the fun.  The design team have some fabulous inspiration.

Not So Very Distressing

Morning all.  Alphabet Challenge day today.  The letter D brings us to the word 'Distress'  You can use distress inks, distressed papers or you can do what I did and distressed the edges of my papers.  I do like to have a defined edge to my papers when I make a card.  I will either use matting and layering, a stitched die cut shape or even embroider a border with cotton.  One that I don't do much is to distress the edge.  Don't know why.  I have a special tool and everything.  I even like the effect.  Anyway, here is my DT card.

I chose the papers and created the layout before I decided which stamp I was going to use.  Strangely, it made colouring it much easier as I had my colours before me.  The image is from  Bugaboo but it must be an old one as I can't find it in the shop.

Please pop over and join in the fun.
