Morning all. Time for me to choose the new challenge over at Make My Monday and I want you to 'use your scraps'. I'm on a bit of a stash busting mission at the moment and I am trying desperately to get rid of some of the bits and pieces littering my craft room. Honestly, if I just binned all the little bits I've got lying around it wouldn't look liked I'd touched it but I can't bring myself to do it.
For my card I took one of my many offcuts of white card (yes I have a drawer full) and sponged a cloud background. I created a white frame slightly smaller and added it to the front. I then picked 4 bits of pink backing paper from my 'pink scraps' folder and used a new die from The Works to cut little balloons.
It was a bit fiddly, especially adding the strings - also cut from a scrap. I also cut some bits of confetti and added those as well. I'm getting to like it more than I did originally. It wasn't what I was originally going to do but when I bought the die I was struck by how easy it would be to cut from scraps.
The design team have come up with some lovely ways to use up their scraps so I do urge you to go and have a look. I also have more pink scraps, and yellow scraps and blue scraps - you get the idea (I have a folder for each colour). Any inspiration you can give me as to what to do with them will be gratefully received.
Thanks for reading.

Pauline - Crafting with Cotnob
A great way to use up your scraps. I am guilty of throwing a lot of mine away before I probably need to.ReplyDelete
Fun use of the scraps and fun die. Loving the cloud background. I could make a 200 cards with my scraps and I'd still still have scraps.. lol I love your use of the straps.ReplyDelete
Fabulous card Dawn, I love all of the balloons, great way to use up your scraps!ReplyDelete
What a fun challenge this was, Dawn! I will have to keep it in mind for the future. Your card is so cute and I'm sure you put a small dent in your pink scraps. ;-) Have a great week!ReplyDelete
Fantastic fun card, great use of scraps. I think scraps breed in the dark and multiple:-) EmmaxReplyDelete
It all depends on the size of your scraps doesn't it! After nearly 30 years paper crafting and 3 house moves, that's 4 homes each bigger than the last! I have learned to be selective in my scrap saving. Mind you it does not stop me collecting washers and other "industrial" items I find on the pavements in car parks etc hahaha. I love your card and theme, those balloons are adorable. xReplyDelete
Delightful design and great use of some of your scrap stash. I'm huge on using my scraps up as well and will often look to them for a given project before digging around through "pristine" products.ReplyDelete
