Get Me! Voluntarily doing a fun fold

Morning all.  I was so impressed by the Washi Tape entries to my Make My Monday challenge.  Thanks to all who joined in.  I have nicked a few of your ideas.  Anyway, over to this week's challenge which is 'Happy Birthday'.  I was experimenting with a card order for a friend and was trying to size up a Z fold card. Well that went pear shaped fairly quickly so I went for a normal card for that one.  I did, however, leave me with a couple of smaller card bases that worked well so I dug through my scraps and a couple of pre cut circles and slung them all together.

I'm pretty pleased with the result to be honest.  I will say this for fun fold cards, they do use up quite a few scraps.  I can see me doing more of these.  Oh good grief.  Have I finally become a convert.  Debbie Mageed, you have a lot to answer for!

Big Bold Bloom

Morning all. We are at 'B' for Bloom over at The Alphabet Challenge today.  I decided to go big and bold with my bloom.  I'm going through a lovely paper pad that I got from the Range and it has some stunning florals.  Some of the designs are too big for cards - well I thought they were. If you cut out a rectangle of the paper and decoupage one of the large flowers it turns out pretty good.

To be fair it's not gonna work on a C6 card.  This is 5x7 and I think the dimensions look ok on that. It would struggle on a smaller card.  OK you lot.  Show us your blooms.

Pretty in Pink

Morning all.  We have a lovely girly challenge over at Cardz4galz this morning.  We would like to see you 'Pink' creations.  Simples!  I've been totally engrossed in my scrap box this week so I pulled out some pretty pink papers for this one.  I had a cut apart that I liked the wording on but the design just didn't stand out.  Instead I fussy cut a flower from the backing paper I'd used and covered the smaller design.

I'm really chuffed with this one.  I love the floral paper and I will be gutted when I've finished it off.  It's not often I say that about paper.  I have so much of it.

Please pop over and join in with the challenge.  You can't get much more girly that pink.

Tag, you're it!

Morning all.  Are you ready for a new Cardz4guyz Challenge.  Tag, you're it.  We want tags or cards with tags on them this time please.  I decided to do something slightly different and create a bottle tag.  I used a favourite type of bottle as inspiration.

I don't expect you to believe it but the glass, although half full, has only tonic water in it.  No, really, it does!  I have several gin and prosecco themed stamps from Crafter's Companion and I've used the sentiment from one and the glass from another for my creation.

Please pop over and join in the fun.

Going Wild with Animal Print

Morning all.  Yet again it's my turn to choose a topic - this time for Sparkles Monthly Challenge - and once again I can't remember why I picked it.  Anyway, 'Animal Print' is what I will be looking for when I visit your blogs and choose the winners.  I used some stripes of paper from a recent purchase that has leopard spots on it. I wasn't sure what to do once I'd put it together but one of the cut aparts had a large sentiment on it so I fussy cut around it.

The sentiment says it all really.  You need to 'go wild' and create something for me to have a look at.  Please pop over and see what the DT have created and join in the fun.

Wishy Washi

Morning all.  Over at Make my Monday today it's my choice of theme.  I can't remember choosing it but 'Washi Tape' it is.  I think I must have been staring at my rolls of tape when I needed a theme.  Anyway, as I have way too much of the stuff and rarely use it, it turned out to be an inspired choice. I just layered several strips in different directions before adding my sentiment and focal point.

I'm running out of sympathy cards and find guys hard to make for on these occasions but I'm really pleased with how this turned out.

Please pop over and join in as I still have tonnes of the stuff and could do with some inspiration.

Animal Antics

Here we go again.  Over at The Alphabet Challenge we are back to the letter A and it's 'Animal Antics' that we are looking for.  I went searching through my printed out digis for something and found a really fun sheep from Bugaboo Stamps (no longer available as Jodie has shut the shop - gutted).

I found some fun backing papers with lots of metallic spots on and I love how it turned out.  I even managed to use a scrap of the zig zag paper from last time's challenge.  Continuity as well!  I spoil you.

Please pop over and join in the fun.

I'm getting the hang of these fun folds now

I'm pretty sure that my teamies on the challenge blogs are on a mission to convert me.  My regular readers will know how hard I find 'fun folds' but we've had quite a few lately.  Today, over at Cardz4galz, I get to practice some more.

I've used some of my pretty girly papers to create a peak-a-boo gate fold card.

It's my son's girlfriend's birthday today - Happy Birthday Libby - and I was going to send it to her but I decided on something to match her present instead.  I do love how this one turned out though.  I don't think it's going in the charity box.  I want to use it myself.  Listen to me!  I think I'm converted.

Please pop over and join in.  I may need your fun folds for future projects.

Hubby's first love

Morning all.  Today, over at Cardz4guyz, we are looking for texture on your projects please.  I was thinking about how I was going to do this one yesterday as my husband, Will, tiled my mum's kitchen.  He's a plumber by trade and does quite a lot of tiling for work.  We've been helping mum update her kitchen and, thankfully, we are on the last leg.  Just the grouting to do now.  I was watching him yesterday and musing as to how much tile adhesive looked like my texture paste.  I couldn't think of a way to add tiles to the card so I went with his first love of Coffee instead.

I used an old stamp from Altenew to add the coffee rings and splashes - and I will add that he's far to conscientious to stick his mug down like that - and popped up the mug when it was dry.  I'm pretty sure he does love me more than the first cup of coffee but I won't push my luck and ask him.

Please pop over and see how the DT have added texture to their projects.

Christmas as a fun fold

Morning all.  Well it may be April Fool's Day but yesterday's Christmasy weather was no joke.  Snow!  I am ready for some real spring stuff.  But, talking of Christmas, we have today's Sparkles Christmas Challenge.  We are looking for fun folds this month and you all know how much I love those!  Actually, I found one I do like.  I did it as a mother's day card for a friend and enjoyed it so I've done another for Christmas.  I found the tutorial for the 'Lock and pop' fold at Mixed Up Crafts.  Here's a couple of photos to show you how mine turned out.

I think it's supposed to look flatter than that when it's closed.  Next time I will put double the foam tape behind my centre piece.

Please pop over and join in the fun.
